How to get the Fortnite shop token

There is no quest, code, or purchase. During Treasure Hunters (November 1 to December 5, 2026) every regular Battle Royale chest on Crossbones Isle is a roll. Most rolls are Gizmos such as the Sprite Locator or Portable Extractor. A few are cosmetics. Pirate Shop Access sits at the top of that pool.

A winning chest glows, shakes, then bursts gold, and a YOU FOUND PIRATE SHOP ACCESS banner fills the screen. You receive two tokens: Pirate Shop Access (2026) and Pirate Shop Access (2027). Several outlets report the prize is shared with your party. The in-game text does not spell that out, so treat sharing as widely reported. Four people opening chests is still four times the rolls.

Best chest locations

The token has no fixed spawn. Land where you can open the most chests before you die. The route the chest maps keep repeating is Arlong Park → Lantern Landing → Windmill Village → Loguetown. Those four sit close enough to chain. A fast player on that line can clear 50 or more chests; 20 to 40 is the realistic number if you take a fight.

Crossbones Isle has 901 chest spawn spots, 243 of them guaranteed, according to Destructoid’s map. Chests also refill during a match, so a POI you emptied can be worth a second pass.

If Arlong Park is already a fight, leave. A quiet sweep of Plunder Port, Busy Bay, Rubber Resort, or Fortune’s Fort beats dying with four chests opened. Density for all eight spots is on the shop token locations page. The one-line version you can keep beside the game is the best spot route.

Fortnite shop token drop rate

Epic has not published a drop rate. The Pirate Shop screen does not list one either. The figure everywhere else is about 1 in 700,000 chests, first posted as “first reported odds” with no sample and no method. It is a community estimate, not an Epic number.

One early winner, snowslept, reportedly opened about 150 chests across three Solos matches before it dropped. That is one lucky result, not a pace you should expect. Anyone quoting an exact percentage is guessing.

How to activate Pirate Shop Access

The 14 days start when you press Activate Now, not when the chest opens. As of November 3, hold the button unless this week’s Item Shop has cosmetics you actually want. The 2026 token must be activated by December 15, 2026 at 6 p.m. GMT-6. The 2027 token has its own deadline.

1. Return to the lobby and open the Item Shop.
2. Select Plunder the Item Shop in the bottom-right.
3. Choose Activate Now.
4. Check the shop each day of the 14 and claim anything priced in V-Bucks that you do not own.

Real-money packs, gifts, and Battle Pass levels stay paid. You can claim one Sidekick you do not already own. There is no code, and the token cannot be traded.
